I have to say last night when they announced Obama had won the Presidency that it almost brought me to tears. I am so excited that this country at least in one aspect was able to see past all the hate and fear mongering lunatics that have plagued our electorate for the last 8 years and to do the right thing and elect the truly best person for the job. I have never in my brief 26 years of living seen this country so energized and so excited about standing up and taking part in the political process. We finally took back our country and told people this is our land and we are going to stop fighting for the wealthy upper class and we are going to start fighting for what is really important to us. Last night to some people there was a “black man” on stage but to me he was just another human being like me and that is what makes me the happiest to know that this country has progressed so much that you really can, no matter what make something of yourself. The only thing I’m sad about, of course besides Prop 8 passing, is that it took this long for our nation to realize the mistakes that have been made over the last 8 years and that it took us this long to see past the color of somebody’s skin and to elect a person because they were best qualified for the job. At first, like many I was skeptical of Obama but when I saw how he was able to bring so many people together to make this happen and how he reached across the United States and how he truly does care about bringing our nation back on track, thats when I knew he had my vote, and of course the $75 I donated to his campaign.

Absolute Bigotry

What would happen if Prop 8 passes is absolute bigotry. It is the voice of a majority controlling the lives of a minority. People always talk about how being gay is unamerican. I’ll tell you what is unamerican and that is taking the rights away of one class of people and treating them differently under the law. People who supported this measure make me sick. I do not understand how they even sleep at night. To top it off they through kids into the race and said that homosexuality would be taught to their children. Well if any of these parents had been in a California classroom when Sex Education is being taught they’d realize that it’s going to be explained to their kids at some stage and they need to grow up and face the reality that they cannot control every aspect of their children’s lives. This is the 21st Century and it is so sad that some people posess such hatred for a group of people. The Constitution says that “all men are created equal” I guess there should be a disclaimer attached to it that says only straight people are created equal and that gays according to Prop 8 are a lesser people and deserve to be treated differently under the law because we break tradition. I hope and pray that this measure is eventually defeated.

So it’s finally here. By 7 PM my time we’ll know who is going to be measuring drapes in the White House tomorrow. It’s going to be interesting. I hope the Rovian nutcases stay home today.

God Help us if McCain Wins

If McCain by some complete out of the box whack job coincidence wins the Presidency look forward to the following:

1. It’s not going to be a question of if we’re living the same as people in the 1960′s we will be living that way.

2. The government will attempt in every fashion humanly possible to control your life. No abortions, no gay marriage, nothing that is “non traditional”.

3. If you have moved here from Mexico and truly want to become a prosperous American life, forget about it. McCain and Palin want you in the Fields, they dare not have you living their American dream. (To this I say F them, I have relatives who are immigrants so I totally get the struggle)

4. If you are barely making ends meet now it WILL get alot worse.

5. If you do not have insurance plan on filing for bankruptcy.

6. You’ll be paying less taxes because you will have less income.

7. There will be a huge national divide.

8. California will probably secede from the United States, along with the other blue states.

9. We will probably go to war with Iran, China, North Korea, Russia, and any other country that has nothing to do with fighting terrorism, to be fighting terrorism.

10. We will be officially hated by everyone.

11. People will keep getting fatter here, because we’re all just a bunch of mavericks.

12. More companies will go bankrupt.

Basically, we’re all screwed.

Stupid Prop 8 Supporter Throwing Himself at my Car!

So this morning some whackjob Prop 8 supporter through himself at my car waving his stupid Yes on 8 sign. I flipped him off and told him to get a life. I hate these stupid bigots. This just goes to show how stupid and narrow minded these people are. Why do people in this country have to be involved in your personal life? Why can’t we have life like they do in other countries where elected officials actually make the laws and we just vote for the officials. If we’re voting on the issues then why do we need to vote for leaders. This crap with Prop 8 is just delaying the reality. Even the governor and millions of others are against it. Even if it gets passed it has been declared unconstitutional. These people need to give up and get on with their lives doing something else besides minding other people’s business. It’s time to end the hate, vote NO on Prop 8.

Shame on You Sarah Palin, Shame on you for attacking San Francisco

You know what Sarah Palin, you need to go home. The people of the Bay Area are sick of you over conservatives telling the whole country that we are a bunch of liberal nutjobs who want to destroy your blessed way of life. Have you even been to San Francisco (the city itself) as opposed to the Grant Hyatt SFO where you made your little stop? Is that because you’re afraid to face the reality that people just plain don’t like you you nutjob witch? Seriously I hope you don’t get elected that would just be sad. How dare you attack us, the people of one of the freest cities in the country. You have no idea what freedom and democracy are about you uncontented pinup bag of bones. You make me sick Palin. Shame on you! As far as I’m concerned I’d rather be a liberal than an ignorant, uneducated fool!

4. The entire World losing power at once
5. GM, Ford, and Chrysler shutting down operations
6. Japan, China, Korea, and Singapore having their economy collapse
7. Australia having a magnitude 8.0 earthquake

Palin Got Punked

Lady you need to get with it and come back down to reality because for one the French don’t really like us (mainly because we are a bunch of Puritanical, Annoying Hypocrites) and you aren’t that popular in Europe sweetheart. So if I call you and stark speaking in Russian and tell you I’m Vladimir Putin would you believe that too? How long did it take you to figure out you’d been punked? How scary is it that you might one day be sitting in the White House and have no idea who is talking to you on the other end of the line?

Obama’s Aunt Being Illegal

Ok so I’m not by any means a fan of illegal immigration but I think it’s mighty convenient that all of a sudden this is coming out 3 days before the election. I think it’s probably something out of Karl Rove’s trick or treat bag. I can understand how this might be important but I think theres a limited amount of control the man would have even if he did know the whole time she was illegal. What is he going to do, go to her house at gunpoint and ask her to leave? I just think it’s another desperate attempt by the GOP to stay in power. I guess the next thing you know they’ll have a video of him (totally fake all be it) making smores with Bin Laden. I wish the GOP would just go away and admit defeat gracefully and let Obama get on with running the country.

People who are “protecting” their kids with Prop 4 and Prop 8

Ok so I’m driving down the 101 today and of course you know me, I can’t help but notice one of those whacko Prop 8 supporters. His kid (on a very rainy day) is sticking his head out the window for at least 2 miles of my drive. I’m thinking this is somebody who is trying to “protect” his kid from us ever so dangerous same sex couples but can’t even bother to protect is kid from eventually getting physical harm. This guy should just go to child services and hand his kid over. The think that bothers me about these ever so protective parents is that they only care about shielding their kids from the realities of the world. The fact is there always have been and always will be same sex couples out there and people need to understand that we deserve to have our own rights. I hate people who say that Domestic Partnership and Civil Unions are the same as marriage, here’s a good analogy are Kobe Beef and Regular Beef the same? No they aren’t they are two very different things that are closely related. It’s the same thing with marriage and DP s they are not the same and these people just need to know that Same Sex couples just want to be treated the same as everyone else. I know the Prop 8 proponents want to push that we will teach their kids about homosexuality, the fact is over time they will learn on their own, not from becoming gay themselves but because they will have a classmate with a gay relative or even have gay friends as time goes along. Shielding your kids from the realities of the World, now that is shameful. I’m not saying at 5 years old you should be having that discussion but brining it up with the birds and the bees talk wouldn’t kill you. Do these people even know how many people have committed suicide because there are parents out there who tell their kids that being gay is the single worst thing in the World? What we need to teach kids about is love and respect. You don’t have to like gays, thats a choice you can make, after all this is a free country, but you need to teach your kids that they need to respect all people because this country is a melting pot and there are so many cultures around. Now on to the Prop 4 “parental consent for abortions” this is just a simply put childish measure that is spawned from over conservative parents who want to control their kids’ lives. These are the very people whose kids would be hurt by this measure. If your kid becomes pregnant it is a tough reality and it’s at a tough point in their life. What would worry me more, if I had a child, would be that my child would get some dirty back alley abortion. We need to protect our kids by letting them decide if they don’t want a kid at whatever stage in their lives. The doctors who perform abortions are qualified medical professionals and it’s their job to make sure it is at an appropriate time and physical condition for an abortion to take place. If this measure passes we are supporting that, like some people if your daughter becomes pregnant at 16 you should marry them off right away and that is taking our society back to the dark ages, and that is something to be ashamed of.
